Straight answers before we speak

You should not have to book a consultation just to understand how AccoClariT works.

Here are the questions business owners most often need answered before deciding whether a conversation makes sense.

What does AccoClariT actually do?

AccoClariT provides bookkeeping, payroll, tax reporting, financial reporting, and different levels of financial analysis and planning for small and medium-sized businesses. The level of support depends on what you need.

For some clients, that means keeping the accounting work current and organized. For others, it also means understanding profitability, cash flow, budgets, forecasts, or the financial impact of an important decision.

Is AccoClariT a bookkeeping firm or an accounting firm?

We do bookkeeping, but the relationship can go further than bookkeeping.

AccoClariT helps keep your financial information accurate and current, then—depending on the solution you choose—helps you understand what the numbers mean and use them more actively in your business.

That is the difference between simply completing the accounting work and making the information more useful to you.

Does AccoClariT replace my CPA?

Not necessarily. AccoClariT handles most of the ongoing accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax reporting, and financial management work described in our solutions.

When a review engagement, audit engagement, or another service requiring a CPA is needed, AccoClariT works with an outside CPA and that work is handled under a separate engagement. Outside CPA services are not included in the AccoClariT packages and may involve additional fees.

Do you handle payroll?

Yes. AccoClariT can process payroll weekly, every two weeks, twice monthly, monthly, or on another schedule when appropriate. We can also prepare payroll remittances, employee setup and departures, vacation pay, benefits and deductions, and payroll reporting.

The client approves payroll and remains responsible for making the payments.

Do you prepare and file GST/QST returns?

Yes. AccoClariT prepares GST/QST calculations and returns, monitors deadlines, communicates the amount due, and can submit the return when you authorize us and provide the required access.

You remain responsible for authorizing and making the payment.

Who controls the money?

You do. AccoClariT prepares information, reports, remittances, and filings, and may submit certain filings when authorized.

We do not make payments or authorize transactions on your behalf. You remain in control of your bank accounts, approvals, payments, and business decisions.

How quickly will I receive my financial information?

Once all required information has been received, financial reporting is generally prepared within approximately 10 business days.

We work ahead of important deadlines whenever possible so you have time to review the information, prepare for upcoming obligations, and ask questions before something becomes urgent.

What do you need from me every month?

Typically, we need the information required to properly record what happened in your business, including sales information, expenses, bank statements, and credit-card statements.

The exact requirements depend on your business and the services we provide. We follow up when something is missing so the work can keep moving.

What happens if my bookkeeping is already behind?

We can help. The amount of cleanup required depends on how far behind the records are, the volume of transactions, and the condition of the existing information.

Catch-up or cleanup work is assessed separately because every situation is different. The first priority is to understand where things stand and establish a practical way to get current again.

Can you help if I have problems with CRA or Revenu Québec?

Yes, depending on the situation. AccoClariT can prepare and submit documents requested by tax authorities, help bring reporting up to date, and assist with certain adjustments or communications when authorized.

If the situation requires a CPA or another specialist, we will identify that rather than pretending the issue belongs inside a standard accounting package.

Can you help me understand why cash is tight even if sales are good?

That is exactly the kind of question financial statements alone may not answer.

Depending on your level of support, AccoClariT can help you look at cash flow, receivables, expenses, margins, labor costs, taxes, and other factors that may explain why cash is moving differently than expected.

The objective is to understand what is happening before deciding what to change.

Can AccoClariT help with budgets and forecasts?

Yes. Budgeting is available within the higher levels of support, and cash-flow forecasting is included with Momentum. Scenario planning, growth planning, financing preparation, dashboards, KPIs, and multi-location reporting can also be included depending on the solution.

Business plans are separate projects and are quoted according to the scope of work.

Can you help me prepare for financing?

Yes. Momentum can include financial forecasts, scenario planning, financing preparation, and support in preparing the financial information required for discussions with banks or lenders.

Certain specialized work may be quoted separately depending on what is required.

Do you work with restaurants and retailers?

Yes. AccoClariT works with SMEs across a range of industries, including restaurants, retail, wholesale, and transportation.

We also work with start-ups, self-employed owners, businesses without employees, and multi-location businesses.

Do I need to change my accounting software?

Usually, no. AccoClariT can work with different accounting systems and currently works extensively with QuickBooks and Sage.

We prefer to make the process work around your business rather than force an unnecessary software change.

Do you offer services in English and French?

Yes. AccoClariT serves clients in both English and French.

The team also speaks several additional languages, including Russian, Hebrew, Ukrainian, Romanian, and Bulgarian.

Where do you provide services?

AccoClariT currently serves businesses across Greater Montreal, including Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore, the North Shore, and the West Island.

Services can be provided virtually, and in-person meetings are also available at the AccoClariT office.

How much does AccoClariT cost?

Our three core solutions currently start at Essential $550 CAD/month, Insight $750 CAD/month, and Momentum $850 CAD/month. Prices are before tax and the final fee depends on scope.

The final price depends on factors such as transaction volume, payroll requirements, number of accounts or locations, reporting needs, and the complexity of the work.

There is no need to choose a package before speaking with us.

Is there a long-term contract?

There is currently no binding long-term contract required for the core service relationship.

The details of the engagement are discussed before work begins so you know what is included and what to expect.

What happens during the first consultation?

The first consultation is free and lasts approximately 45 minutes.

A senior member of the AccoClariT team will learn how your business currently handles its financial work, understand where stronger support may be useful, and discuss which solution could make sense.

The conversation can take place by phone, virtually, or in person. If a proposal is required, it is generally prepared within approximately 48 hours.

Still have a question?

You do not need to have everything figured out before speaking with us.

If something about the financial side of your business feels unclear, too time-consuming, or harder to manage than it should be, we can start there.
